This workshop is for young artists who want to dive deep into writing their college personal statement. In this intensive, we’ll focus on creating college essays that grab admissions readers’ attention, show your true self, and are works of art. Together, we’ll learn the basics of college essays, discuss the genres of creative nonfiction/personal essays, look at examples of successful college essays, brainstorm topics, and offer each other feedback. This workshop is particularly targeted at rising seniors, but all high schoolers are welcome. Students will leave the workshop with a draft of their personal statements.
